Today was a really long day. We posted a few times through out the day. After we went to the arch de triomphe we walked down the champs. So many people! We found a pharmacy...which was awesome. Now we can shave, store our contacts and straighten our hair. We saw the obelisk in the place de la concorde which was very cool. Its HUGE! Back in the 1700s, Egypt gave France two obelisks. This is one of them. Its stands where the guillotine once stood. (and the other obelisk is still in Egypt. It never actually made the trip to France. It was too big at the time. And then a few years ago France officially gave it back). Then when we finally made it home to the marais neighborhood where we had an amazing dinner and some wine. Our pasta had an egg on top. Very strange. It was yellow and runny. But the pasta was good. We were both so tired and sweaty then we came back to the hotel. Even tho its still light out. We were just so tired. Its crazy. My feet hurt. My ankles. Calfs. Legs. Side. Back. Shoulders. Everything!
We're gonna sleep well tonight!

Tomorrow the goal is to go to the Eiffel tower, the musee d'orsay, the musee rodin, delacroix museum. And the cluny museum. I don't know if we'll get all of that done. But its the goal. Hopefully it'll be cooler tomorrow. Today was unusually hot. 10 degrees hotter than average!

Got a late start this morning. Sleep was needed tho! Then we headed to the louvre. We so knew where we were going but decided to follow the big signs intended for tourists. They totally got us lost. But we got back on track and got there. We saw everything we wanted to see. No ancient sumerian money holders anywhere tho :( now we are headed to the ile de la cite. For st chapelle and notre dame. But we got side tracked by an Irish pub. Now drinking Irish beer. An relaxing. Our feet hurt!

Paris! Yay. So glad to be here. Our hotel pa definately a not a 5 star hotel. But its definately a local hotel. So that's cool. We will need to purchase shampoo and body wash and stuff today. We're on the 4th floor. There are 5 rooms or so on each floor. And they all open out to look down over the entrance/lobby. And since we don't have a/c. I have a feeling we are going to get to know our neighbors well. But the bed doesn't suck and the shower has hot water. So no complaining here. Dinner last night was so good. Our waiter kept laughing at pa because we were trying to be polite and use the little french we knew. But neither of us had brushed up on our food vocab. So we knew what we had ordered for our appetizer. But then Lara and I split a sandwich...and we had no idea what was going to be coming. Now we know how to say turkey sandwich in french. It was a really good sandwich. The bartender was into the most random music. So we heard everything from Abba to rap to the Jackson 5.
We slept in this morning. So we're getting a bit of a late start...but not too late. Then we'll head out to the louvre. Then St chappelle. Then notre dame. And finally the pompidou. Then at night we'll go up the arc de triomphe and walk down the champs. Then bed. Good day all in all :)
